At some point, many of us begin asking a different kind of question: what do I want the next part of my life to look like?
The hardest part isn't finding information.
But it's much harder to find the person sitting somewhere in Toronto, London or Sydney, wondering about exactly the same move you are.
Someone considering the same place. Around the same time. For some of the same reasons.
And just as hard to find the person who made that move three years ago and can tell you what they wish they'd known.
We thought there should be a place for that. So we're building SecondChapter.
People on your path
Not because an algorithm says you're 94% compatible.
Not because you're supposed to date.
And not simply because you live in the same city today.

Because there's a genuine possibility that your lives could cross somewhere tomorrow.
People already there
"I did this. Here's what I learned."
Which neighbourhood feels like home. How the doctor's appointments work. What the paperwork is really like. The kind of knowledge that only comes from living somewhere.
Before you arrive
Ask questions. Get to know a few people. Have coffee on your scouting trip. Then land somewhere that already has a few familiar names in it.
Your community started before your flight did.
You haven't inherited a ready-made group of best friends. But you're no longer arriving completely alone.
The chapter continues
Today
"What's it really like living in Valencia?"
Later
"I've been here two years. Here's what I'd tell someone considering it."
That's how a community becomes more useful with every person who makes the journey.
We'd rather build one of the most relevant.
You don't need another list of thousands of strangers. You need the handful of people worth knowing:
Relevance matters more than reach.
Philosophy
No infinite feed. No streaks. The goal is a coffee, a walk, a good answer, a new friend — then getting on with your life.
Trust
The new beginning
"I want to start somewhere different."
The near-retirement plan
"In two years, I could live almost anywhere."
The seasonal life
"What if I spent every winter somewhere warm?"
The explorer
"I'm not ready to move. I'm just wondering."
The recent arrival
"I'm here. Now I want to build a life."
The local guide
"I did it. Maybe I can help someone else."
You don't need to have decided. You don't need to call yourself an expat. You don't need to be retired.
And you certainly don't need to have everything figured out.
You just need to be curious about what might come next.
The journey
…and then, help the next person.

We can't tell you where you should live. We can't promise a move will change your life. And we can't choose the people who'll become important to you.
But we can make it much easier to discover the places, people and communities that could become part of what comes next.
There may be another city. Another country. Another community. Friends you haven't met yet. Another chapter.
Your next life starts somewhere.
